Why are artists so important in the world?

We are the treasure hunters and gatherers, excavating beauty from the trenches, and shining light in dark places, putting words and visuals to the unseen. In this world, we are all sojourners, and itโ€™s the artists who birth a sense of home and place by opening eyes to wonder and hearts to the manna of Godโ€™s beauty and grace - the sustenance that keeps us alive.

In a world filled with noise, artists make a way for others to behold what is true, good, and beautiful, even if only for a brief moment of holy distraction. My art is an offering and an invitation to feel and be moved. Itโ€™s my sacrifice, itโ€™s my worship, and I pray that as the Holy Spirit moved me to create, you are moved a little closer to know the love of your Heavenly Father, from where all good things come.

Beauty and gratitude are my weapons of choice and Iโ€™m passionate about wrestling with the 90% thatโ€™s below the top 10% of surface-level living and the real people who want to go there with me, singing car-aoke with a hairbrush microphone, sparkly things, cool seed pods, and giving sincere compliments. Thanks for being here.

โ€œOne thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I desire, to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek him in his temple.โ€

- Psalm 27:4
