Why are artists so important in the world?

We are the treasure hunters and gatherers, excavating beauty from the trenches, and shining light in dark places, putting words and visuals to the unseen. We are all sojourners, and it’s the artist who births a sense of home and place by opening eyes to wonder and hearts to the manna of God’s beauty and grace that is here and now - the sustenance that keeps us alive.

In this noisy world full of distractions, the artist invites others to behold what is true, good, and beautiful, even if only for a brief sacred moment. My art is an offering and an invitation to feel and be moved. It’s my sacrifice, it’s my worship, and I pray that as the Holy Spirit moved me to create, you are moved a little closer to know the love of your Heavenly Father, from where all good things come.

“One thing I have asked of the LORD; this is what I desire, to dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and seek him in his temple.”

- Psalm 27:4
